Merino wool baby Summer duvet
Summer is a wonderful season, but for both adults and children, the warm summer nights can provide a restless sleep. Do you find that your child’s year-round duvet is too hot? Then it will definitely be beneficial for you to replace your child’s year – round duvet with a cool summer duvet. A good night’s sleep is important, so that your child’s body and brain can be allowed to recover for a new day. We therefore do not compromise on our night’s sleep, nor do we think that you nor your child should!
We have made an effort to make the best baby summer duvet. Maybe you doubt us since we have chosen to fill it with 100% natural merino wool. But merino wool is more than just a winter accessory! Read on here and find out why baby summer duvets with merino wool are the best choice.
TEMPERATURE REGULATING
Merino wool is naturally breathable, and in fact one of the most breathable materials available. Merino wool is an active fiber that reacts to changes in body temperature. In a warm environment, wool feels up to twice as cool against the skin as synthetic materials.
Wickable
When the body gets hot, the merino wool conducts the heat away by absorbing moisture from the body and letting it evaporate through its fibers. Merino wool can absorb up to 35% moisture of its own weight, without feeling wet or losing its temperature-regulating properties. This is especially beneficial for the hot summer nights when the body releases moisture to maintain its core temperature.
100% ORGANIC
We neither use chemicals nor synthetically made materials to make your baby summer duvet with merino wool. The baby summer duvet has a cover of 100% organically certified cotton. We use long wool fibers, which are mapped to create a light and airy baby summer duvet. We only use 100% natural and untreated merino wool, which is both beneficial for the environment, but also for you who get the best and most natural baby summer duvet.
ANTIBACTERIAL
We use 100% natural and untreated merino wool in our baby summer duvet. This means that we have not washed the natural content of lanolin out of the wool. The natural content of lanolin, among other things, helps to create an antibacterial environment in the merino wool, in which house dust mites, bacteria and fungi cannot live.
BABY SUMMER BLANKET WITH DOWN OR MERINO WOOL?
There are several studies that show that both children and adults sleep better with merino wool. Studies show that newborns sleep more peacefully in merino wool and are less likely to wake up and cry during the night. But adults also enjoy sleeping with merino wool. Merino wool has significantly better temperature-regulating properties than any other materials such as down, which are often used for summer duvets. When choosing a good summer quilt, it is important to choose a quilt that is more regulating rather than insulating.
As previously described, merino wool is one of the most breathable fibers available, and is great for adapting to your baby’s body temperature. When you choose a summer quilt with merino wool over a traditional summer quilt with feather or down, you will find that the summer quilt with merino wool is far better at adapting to your child’s core temperature than the down quilt. This is because a down duvet is more insulating rather than regulating. When you get warm under the duvet, you will find that your duvet becomes damp. A feather or down duvet quickly becomes damp when you sweat, as feathers and down absorb moisture. You will not experience this with a summer duvet with merino wool. Merino wool can absorb 35% moisture of its own weight without feeling moist.
If you ask us, merino wool is an underestimated and overlooked filling in duvets – and especially summer duvets. Are you still in doubt? Then do not hesitate to contact customer service for further guidance.
